Common approaches include anticholinesterase medications like pyridostigmine to enhance neuromuscular transmission. Immunosuppressive drugs such as corticosteroids and azathioprine may be used to reduce the immune system's attack on the neuromuscular junction. For severe cases, plasma exchange or intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) can rapidly remove harmful antibodies. In some cases, thymectomy (removal of the thymus gland) may be recommended.
